“Sightlines” strikes a difficult balance, playing to the band’s penchant for explosive melodicism while retaining a tight danceable undercurrent. Damian Coleman’s basslines drive the song forward with a swirling intensity, locking in with Ed Cummings’ keys and Phil Skot’s propulsive dance floor drums. Meanwhile, vocalist Dave Suchon delivers a searing and emotional performance, hitting exhilarating heights before guitarist Craig Keeney takes the track into the stratosphere with a climactic guitar solo.
Beats Per Minute debut new Whitney Walker video “Heather From Here”
The work of Portland, Maine singer-songwriter Whitney Walker inhabits dark, rain-soaked landscapes where back-alley transactions, secret affairs, and the underbelly of society is brought out for public inspection. He doesn’t shy away from the parts of the world, and himself, that feel ragged and voyeuristic, peering into the void of past decisions regardless of their result. His insight into these often-nightmarish themes is due to his past proximity to them – he has fought his own demons involving addiction and mental illness and found the strength to rise above their terrors.

The Wild Is Calling adds Prinz Grizzley’s “Proud Mary” to their Undiscovered Indie Folk Gems
“Of course many other artists have made [“Proud Mary”] their own in the 50+ years since its release, and Prinz Grizzley is equally impactful. He reimagines it as a traditional blues folk banjo based backwood banger. The kind of cigarette trucker hat jive that gets you feeling good and ready for another Bud and twirl of Mary by the jukebox.”
Americana UK shares new single and video from The Sarandons – “So Long” – calling it “big and anthemic… warm and open-hearted.”
Check out recent single ‘So Long’ from Canadian indie-rockers The Sarandons. Featuring bursts of great guitar from Craig Keeney, it’s big and anthemic, warm and open-hearted. The song is driven by a great rhythm section and Damian Coleman’s pulsing bass is particularly effective. As the song progresses, there’s a lyrical breakthrough, a blossoming optimism about moving on that takes us beyond earlier doubts: “It took me ten years to remember // To realize which side I’m on // But I was right there where ya wanted // All along,” delivered with Dave Suchon’s raw, heartfelt, melodic voice.
It’s Psychedelic Baby debuts Prinz Grizzley’s “Proud Mary” calling it a “dolefully gentle, banjo and acoustic guitar rendition”
Austrian Alps-based Americana songwriter Prinz Grizzley recently recorded dolefully gentle, banjo and acoustic guitar rendition of CCR’s ‘Proud Mary’
”?If someone would’ve told me a year ago that I’d do a cover of a CCR song, I would’ve laughed out loud and called them crazy! I would’ve said that I’d never, ever dare to do a cover of a CCR song and particularly not ?’?Proud Mary!?’? Because of two things, first, nobody, I mean really nobody, sings these songs better than John Fogerty! Second, John Fogerty´s music has been with me as long as I can remember. It kind of became the holy grail for me. These songs are not to be messed around with or changed. For example, I never liked the Tina Turner version, although I know it’s a killer one. I know I broke my own rule, but with this version of mine, I think this exception is acceptable, at least for me!?”? Prinz GrizzleY.
These songs of finding hope, revenge and eventually serenity will make you look for your own secluded mountain town to settle down in, get drinks with friends and maybe even start a family.
