In the midst of a burgeoning career, Michael McArthur did what many singer-songwriters may find unthinkable—he took a break. Requiring respite after years of constant writing, touring, and performing, McArthur spent some time away from his musical passions to focus on repairing his relationship with his spouse and himself. Ever Green, Ever Rain is the result of the folk artist’s return to it all after taking what restful moments he had self-prescribed. Fading lines between whimsy and wisdom, McArthur’s forthcoming album is a full-bodied work of folk majesty that pushes the chestnut genre’s musical boundaries in captivating new directions.

NYLON premieres Jennah Bell’s new single, “Everybody Likes to Party”
Jennah Bell is looking back at the lessons she learned throughout her 20s on forthcoming debut album Anchors & Elephants. Today, Bell premieres her new single “Everybody Likes to Party” exclusively via NYLON.
The track, produced by Michael Haziza, sits toward the end of the chronologically ordered album. It’s a little bit soul, a little bit folk; Bell’s years surrounded by a family of both music aficionados and artists (her father is Ronnie Bell of Kool and the Gang) are present on every utterance. If you preferred Amy Winehouse’s stripped-back sessions to her fully produced albums, this is exactly the album you’re going to want to dig into as soon as it’s out. READ MORE

Charles Wesley Godwin talks New Album “Seneca” with Vents Magazine
“I think all of the songs on this album were written over the course of two year period, from June 2016 – March 2018. I think I definitely grew as a songwriter over the course of creating this album, and since it’s been done, I’ve written some of my best work. The recording of this album was such an enjoyable experience. It took the better part of a year to finish because of my touring schedule and the need to keep funds flowing in order to finance the album. Working with Al Torrence and the rest of the guys was a ton of fun. It honestly didn’t feel like work.” – Wesley

Grand Canyon Shares First Concert Story with Digital Tour Bus
A couple years back, we were making slow progress writing our first album. We thought getting out of LA might help us focus, so we found an Airbnb about 5 hours north in North Fork and headed out of town.
On our first night, we went out for drinks at the one place in town that had its lights on. By the end of the night, we had drunkenly talked the bartender and owner into letting us play a gig at the bar on our final night in town. It was to be a three hour set of covers and originals. At the time, we had about 8 songs to our name, and we had never played a gig as a band. We had a few days to get about 25 more songs under our belt. Did I mention it would be our first gig as a band?
