Recorded in Nashville she has assembled a fine body of backing musicians who have worked with the likes of k.d.lang, Brothers Osborne, and Miranda Lambert to name but a few. Her guitar work honed with playing over two hundred shows a year is exceptionally clean and precise. Not only that her vocals are also very strong throughout, reminiscent on a number of tracks of Sheryl Crow at her finest.
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Jax Hollow’s song “Only The Wild Ones,” the title track from her forthcoming album. Only The Wild Ones was recorded at Sound Emporium and Sienna Studios. It was produced by Evan Frederiksen, Jae Sims, and Joe Trentacosti; co-produced by Juanita Copeland; engineered by Evan Frederiksen and Joe Trentacosti with assistant engineering by Joanna Finley. Throughout Smith’s storied career, he’s collaborated with Mary Gauthier and Grammy winner Keb Mo.
Recorded at The Sound Emporium and Music Row’s Sienna Studios with some of Nashville’s finest musicians, including drummer Matt King (Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne), bassist Lex Price (k.d. lang, Miranda Lambert), and Tim Galloway (Joshua Hedley, Cody Johnson) on rhythm guitar and banjo, “Ethereal Emerald” truly comes to life. Hollow says, “What an incredible experience, in one of the best studios in the world.”
The third album from indie/folk rock band Under the Rug moves on from the blistering ‘Dear Adeline‘ (released early in 2022), an album chronicling the breakup of a relationship and grief over the loss of a beloved mother.
