Cleverly letting each song speak for itself, the band marches through a variety of genres (e.g. synth-rock, hard rock and shoegaze, just to name a few) but are held together through Brandsness and Warren’s virtuosic riffs and fiery back-and-forth vocals. Ripping guitars serve elsewhere to punctuate brooding synth-rock and even morph into earth-shaking shoegaze on album highlight, “Your Love Is A Phantom” (out 10/26).

The surprise passing of Pete Ventantonio, aka Jack Terricloth, on March 12, 2021, left its mark on the New York and New Jersey music scenes. The longtime frontman of The World/Inferno Friendship Society, and previously Sticks & Stones, left his mark on many people.
New Jersey–born punk icon Peter Ventantonio, a.k.a. Jack Terricloth, passed away in May of last year. Well-known throughout the New Jersey and New York punk scenes and beyond, Terricloth led the hardcore group Sticks & Stones and fronted the cabaret-punk collective The World/Inferno Friendship Society. Over a year after his passing, a tribute album is arriving this month featuring covers by Jeff Rosenstock, Ted Leo, Bouncing Souls, Catbite, The Slackers, and more, and today we get to hear Worriers‘ take on Sticks & Stones’ “Grasping at Straws” from the compilation.
