On August 10th, Owlbiter, the Brooklyn indie-folk project of Matt Cascella, will release the new album, Stud Farm. A bedroom album in every sense of the word, Cascella keeps Stud Farm bare bones as possible. Gently folk pluckings, some keyboard, an occasional trombone, and backing vocals make up the songs. Also, you’ll get the occasional noises of a playground, which was outside one of the apartments where Owlbiter recorded Stud Farm. Today, we premiere one of the album’s songs, “At Least We’re Naked”. The new song explores the serenity and intimacy of sex in an increasingly anxious world. NYC indie pop band Beechwood will release its new album, Inside The Flesh Hotel, tomorrow (June 8th) via Alive Records. There’s definitely an old school, underground vibe about this band. Their music permeates a smell of a cigarettes and spilled booze that’s grimy but also alluring. Today, we premiere the song, “Sucker”, from Inside The Flesh Hotel. Seems like summer is just around the corner. It’s already getting HOT in my part of the world.
